Kenya has in the last 24 hours recorded 244 new Covid-19 cases from 3,707 samples, bringing the country’s caseload to 38,115.
Of the positive cases, 228 are Kenyans and 16 are foreigners.
157 are male while 87 are female. The youngest case is a three-month-old infant and the oldest is aged 85.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has also confirmed the death of two patients, bringing the death toll to 691.
On a positive light, the CS announced 40 recoveries; 10 from various hospitals and 30 from the home-based care program.
This raises the total number of recoveries to 24,621.
In the sub-counties, they were spread out as follows: Nairobi cases are from Starehe (13), Dagoretti North (9) EmbakasiEast (8) Westlands (7) Kasarani (5) Dagoretti South (4Kibra and Lang’ata (3) cases each Embakasi South,Embakas West, Kamukunji and Ruaraka (2) cases each, Makadara, Mathare and Roysambu (1) case each.
In Nakuru, the 58 cases are from Nakuru East (39), Navasha (9), Nakuru west and Rongai (3) cases each, Njoro (2), Gilgil and Subukia (1) case each.
In Garissa, the 16 cases are from Garissa Town (15) and Dadaab (1). In Kisumu, the 14 cases are from Kisumu Central (6), Kisumu East (5) and Nyando (3).
In Busia, the 9 cases are from Matayos (8) and Teso North (1). In Trans Nzoia, the 7 cases are from Saboti (5), Kiminini and Kwanza (1) case each, while the 6 cases in Turkana, are from Turkana Central (5) and Turkana West (1).
In Kajiado, the 5 cases are from Kajiado East and Kajiado North (2) cases each, Loitoktok (1).
The 2 cases in Uasin Gishu, are from Kapseret and Soy with (1) case each, the 2 cases in Narok, are from Narok North and Transmara with (1) case each, the 2 cases in Laikipia, are all from Laikipia East.
The 2 cases in Siaya, are all from Bondo, and the 1 case in Kakamega is from Lurambi.
