3 Dead in an Accident Involving Bus, Boda Boda

Three people were killed on Tuesday night, November 10 in a road accident involving a bus and boda boda along the Narok-Bomet highway.

Confirming the incident, Narok South Sub-County Police Commander Magdalene Chebet told the media that the driver of the bus, belonging to Bongo Safaris, hit the boda boda rider from behind as a result to poor visibility in Enelerai, Narok County.

The police boss said that the bus was on its way from Kisii to Nairobi and was speeding when it hit the boda-boda killing the rider and two passengers on the spot.

Chebet further said that the scene of the crash is a known black spot in the area urging drivers be careful when approaching the area.

“The driver drove to the police station in Ololulunga trading centre and reported the accident. He recorded a statement indicating that there was poor visibility due to rains in the area.”

“Drivers should be careful since the area is prone to accidents,” Chebet said.

She added that investigations have been launched to establish the cause of the crash saying that there were no tyre marks on the tarmac as it was raining.

“At the moment, officers are examining the vehicle and the motorcycle so it is too early to give a conclusive statement. But I can confirm it was fatal,” she added.

All the passengers in the bus escaped without injuries.
