On Saturday, Kenya recorded 538 Covid-19 positive cases, as the country’s total caseload rose to 41,158.
In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 6,872 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 586,911.
Of the positive cases, 496 were Kenyans and 42 foreigners.
Over the same period, 61 patients were discharged; 40 from the home-based care program and 21 from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 30,937.
Unfortunately, five patients succumbed to the disease bringing the death toll to 760.
In the county distribution, Nairobi county led with 157 cases, Bungoma 118, Nakuru 48, Turkana 41, Mombasa 33, Kilifi 31, Uasin Gishu 16, Kisumu 13, Kisii 12, Meru 12, Garissa 9, Trans Nzoia 9.

Both Narok and Kiambu counties recorded 8 cases, Kakamega 6, Isiolo 4, Kwale 3, Nyaira 2, Kitui 2, Migori 2, Busia 1, Elgeyo Marakwet 1 and Marsabit 1.
The cases in Nairobi county were reported in Lang’ata (42), Kibra (23), Starehe (19), Embakasi Central (15), Roysambu (13), Westlands (8), Embakasi West (7), Kasarani (6), Dagoretti South and Ruaraka (4) cases each.
