Kenya has announced 139 new COVID-19 infections from 1,774 sample size tested in the last 24 hours.
The total now stands at 37, 218.
Of the positive cases, 125 are Kenyans and 14 foreigners.
112 are male and 22 are female while the youngest case is a 4-year-old child and the oldest is aged 82.
Addressing reporters during the daily COVID-19 briefing from Afya House, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi confirmed 198 new recoveries also recorded in the same period.
Unfortunately, 9 other patients succumbed to the virus bringing the death toll to 659.
The cases were distributed as follows in the counties: Nairobi (46), Kisumu (44), Mombasa (9), Kajiado (9), Kiambu (9) and Kericho (9). Laikipia (4), Machakos (3), Nakuru (2) while Garissa, Kirinyanga, Kisii, Meru, Makueni, Embu and Turkana all had one case each.
