A lawyer is nursing injuries after his hand was chopped of by a female police officer he allegedly was attempting to rape in Wote, Makueni County.
The incident happened on the night of Wednesday, October 7.
At the man’s house, it is believed that things took a tragic turn as the lawyer forcibly tried to have sex with the female officer.
The lawyer, a Mr. Onesmus Masaku got into a tussle with the police constable, Nancy Njeri, who is stationed at Makueni Police Station.
Police said Ms Njeri turned down the lawyer’s sexual advances, but the man insisted.
“The lawyer grabbed her and started forcing her to his bedroom. This prompted the officer to grab a panga and cut him on both hands before managing to escape,” said Makueni Sub-county Police Commander Timothy Maina.
The injured man was later taken for treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised medical attention.
Police in Makueni are complicit in the attempted murder of Lawyer Onesmus Masaku by Policewoman Nancy Nyeri. The two are known lovers and Njeri attempted to kill him after he refused to accede to her demands for marriage. Nancy Njeri should be arrested and charged. ^POLSK

The lawyer was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi, for treatment after the incident.
Luckily, the female officer escaped with non-life threatening injuries and was discharged from Makueni Referral Hospital where she had been taken for treatment.
Police have since arrested the police officer and has been taken in for attempted murder.
Some sources allege that the two are known lovers and Njeri attempted to kill him after he refused to accede to her demands for marriage.
The incident highlights the rising cases of sexual violence against women that has seen a spike during this period of coronavirus pandemic.
