Kandara MP Alice Wahome has sued the government for recently including Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Mohammed Badi in its cabinet sittings.
According to the fiery MP, Badi’s inclusion in the cabinet was unconstitutional. As a result, she wants the NMS boss blocked from attending any more meetings.
In a statement on Thursday, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena said the NMS boss will henceforth attend cabinet meetings and its Committees, pursuant to Executive Order No. 3 of 2020.
President Uhuru Kenyatta witnessed the taking and subscription of the Oath of Secrecy, a requirement of all persons who attend Cabinet Meetings or participate in the conduct of Cabinet Business.

The ceremony conducted by the Head of the Public Service was a precursor to the Cabinet Meeting held at State House, Nairobi on Thursday.
Badi was tasked with the responsibility of transforming the city and given 100 days to deal with corruption and dismantle cartels that have held the city at ransom for years.
Badi was appointed to the newly formed NMS on March 18 after Nairobi governor Mike Sonko signed over four key devolved functions to the national government.
The four functions were: health services, transport, public works, utilities and ancillary services and county government planning and development.
