Liverpool held to a draw

Another VAR Nightmare for Liverpool as They are Held 1-1 by Brighton

There was no shortage of VAR drama in Brighton vs Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Mohamed Salah thought he had scored the opener in the first-half but VAR ruled that he was marginally offside.

Liverpool would take the lead when Diogo Jota netted just after the hour-mark.

Liverpool netted again shortly after through Sadio Mane, only for the goal to be ruled out by VAR.

It looked as if Jurgen Klopp’s side would hold on to all three points.

But VAR would come to haunt Liverpool again in the latter stages of the game.

Brighton were given a stoppage-time penalty by VAR when Danny Welbeck went down inside the box under contact from Andy Robertson.

Pascal Gross stepped up and scored from the spot to mean both sides shared the spoils.

Liverpool will be fuming with VAR. Jurgen Klopp’s post-match interview is going to be something special.
