Police have nabbed a second suspect in the murder of a Nairobi businessman in Kilimani.
Chris Obure was on Saturday arrested after preliminary investigations showed that he was the owner of the gun that was used to kill Kevin Omwenga.
Omwenga was shot at his Galana Suites apartment by Robert Bodo Ouko on Friday night over what police suspect was a fake gold deal gone wrong.
Obure is not new to controversy. He was arrested four years ago for misusing his firearm at a popular nightclub in Westlands.
According to a report filed at Kilimani Police Station, Obure had double parked his Range Rover but when management asked him to move his car as he was blocking others, he turned violent, smashing a car window and brandishing his gun at other revellers.
He was charged with charged with assault and causing bodily harm to Ben Alila Onyango on December 31, 2016.
Appearing before Milimani Law Court Principal Magistrate, Joyce Njandani, Obure denied the charges and was released on Sh50,000 bond or an alternative of Sh20,000 bail.
He first shot to the limelight in 2015, when he threw his wife a lavish baby shower at the Villa Rosa Kempinski.
In the company of some 10 men, Obure gifted his wife an S6 Edge Plus phone, a trip to the Bahamas Islands and Sh1 million.
The suspect who is currently being questioned at Kilimani Police Station is also known to be gold swindler.
Last year, his accounts along with those belonging to Jared Otieno were frozen over links to a gold scam.
