Fast-rising Kenyan Instagram sensation Elsa Majimbo has won the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards.
The delighted 19-year-old comedian who took to her social media handles on Monday, November 9 to broke the news, thanked her millions of fans who supported her to win the prestigious international award.
“I won the E! People’s Choice Award! I literally could not have done it without all of your amazing support. A big thank you to the people at @eentertainment for recognizing game ????,” said delighted Majimbo.
Majimbo went on to count her blessing that came in disguise at a time when people continue to count losses as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This year has been a whirlwind of discomfort and confusion for everybody, but for me it’s also brought with it a great lesson, that sometimes even the greatest obstacles in our path can be opportunities in disguise,” she added.
Majimbo was nominated alongside Nigerian content creator Dimma Umeh, South Africa’s Sho Madjozi, Thuso Mbedu, Wian, Karl Kugelmann, Zozi Tunzi and Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson under the ‘African Social Star 2020’ category.
Nigerian Vlogger Dimma Umeh emerged the runners-up in the category.
The People’s Choice Awards is an American award that recognizes people in the entertainment industry.
The nominees are voted for online by the public and their fans.
