A Nairobi Court on Wednesday, October 21 issued an arrest warrant against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
According to the court, the governor has failed to appear in court severally in a case where four men reportedly attempted to extort him Ksh30 million.
This has left the case in limbo.
The court now wants Kingi and the witnesses in the case arrested.
The court further wants the police to present Kingi and the witness before it on Thursday, October 22, for further direction.
George Ngugi, Abdul Aziz Alim, Moses Musee Maluki and Noah Akala Aduwo, who are Mombasa traders are accused of trying to obtain Ksh30 million from the Kilifi County boss.
They denied the charges.
The four are said to have posed as detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), investigating an alleged misappropriation of funds.
The offense, reports say, was executed at the Gracia Hotel in Kilimani in June 2018.
