Covid-19: Kenya Records 961 Cases as 10 People Die

Kenya has recorded 961 new corona virus cases after 7,780 individuals were tested for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health in a statement Wednesday, December 2, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that the country’s total caseload stood at 85,130 out of 901,426 total samples tested so far.

854 patients have recovered from the disease, 686 from the Home-Based Care Program while 168 discharged from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 56,464.

1,240 patients are admitted to various health facilities countrywide with 7,755 on Home Based Isolation and Care.

74 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 33 of whom are on ventilatory support and 40 on supplementary oxygen out of whom 61 are in general wards. 16 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Regrettably, 10 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 1,484. 

The distribution of cases in the country is as follows; Nairobi 203, Nakuru 118, Kilifi 83, Kirinyaga 71, Kericho 57, Uasin Gishu 52, Mombasa 41, Embu 41, Busia 40, Nyandarua 42, Kiambu 23, Kisumu 22, Isiolo 21 and Nyeri 18.

Others are Nandi 16, Murang’a 14, Homa Bay 13, Kakamega 12, Nyamira 9, Turkana 8, Kajiado 7, Trans Nzoia 7, Samburu 6, Vihiga 6, Siaya 6, Baringo 5, Taita Taveta 5, Kisii 5, Machakos 4, West Pokot 4, Meru 2, Mandera 2, Laikipia 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 2 while Bomet, Garissa, Bungoma, Marsabit and Kitui have a case each.
