DCI detectives from the Transnational Organized Crimes Unit (TOCU) on Tuesday night nabbed a personation and fraud suspect.
Personation means to assume the identity of another person with intent to deceive.
Martin Kikwau Mutangili, who has been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, was found in House No. 2 Block F of Prissy Apartments within Syokimau, Machakos County.

The 39 year old suspect has been posing as a civil servant working with various government ministries.
“Responding to numerous complaints from the victims, the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) detectives launched a manhunt for the 39-yr-old suspect, netting him after hours of rigorous search at house no. 2 Block F of Prissy Apartments within Syokimau,” DCI tweeted.
A stop at the aforementioned apartment led to the discovery of several items including; two stamps with the impressions; “Chief of Staff Interior”, and “Received KDF”, a civilian’s firearm certificate, a pistol holster, several immigration temporary movement passes, police, court and MM Enterprise documents.
Detectives also found lease agreements, and delivery receipts.
Search in his house led to the recovery of:

Mr Mutangili is also said to have on several occasions posed a member of the disciplined forces and a National Intelligence Service (NIS) officer.
DCI has stated that the suspect is in custody after being positively identified by his victims.
“The suspect who to some bluffs as a member of the disciplined forces or a National Intelligence Service officer now in custody pending further police procedures and arraignment, with several victims having positively identified him,” DCI averred.
DCI is also looking for a man running a conning syndicate.
In a tweet, the sleuths indicated that Kenyans have lost millions of shillings to a man identified as John Ng’ethe Mwaura.
Members of the public have been urged to relay any information in connection to the suspect.
