“Don’t Abandon Your Friend”, DP Ruto Tells NASA Principals

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday, January 7 aimed a dig at ODM boss Raila Odinga and his NASA coalition partners for their role in government.

While speaking during the funeral service of Hannah Mudavadi, the mother of ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, the deputy president indirectly asked Raila, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula not to run away from their newly found political friend, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The DP said that since the four are now constantly communicating with the president directly, it is only fair that they come on board and help manage the situation together without saying ‘it is you guys’.

“Do not run away from us and point fingers, we must stay put because it is no longer us vs them, we must pull together and confront the situation,” DP Ruto said.

Ruto added that the country is currently operating under the handshake space where all political leaders are working together.

“It is therefore correct to say let us be friends and partners when times are good and when not so good.”

He hailed the late as a great matriarch who contributed immensely to the growth and betterment of Kenya through the family she raised.

“Mama Hanna made a great contribution to the leadership of Kenya, first through Moses Mudamba Mudavadi, and now through Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi. We celebrate her as a matriarch.” Hannah was the widow of the late Cabinet Minister Moses Mudamba Mudavadi.”

“Politics being difficult as it is, it takes a great, strong, hospital and prayerful woman to support a political husband and son. She not only supported her husband but also became a great mentor to Mudavadi and therefore we have a course and a reason to celebrate her”.
