Dr Aukot was on August 26, suspended as the party leader by its National Executive Committee (NEC). A hurriedly assembled National Executive Council meeting resolved to indefinitely suspend him over three alleged offences among them assaulting his deputy Angela Mwikali.
The party committee also accused Aukot of financial impropriety, self-enrichment, non-accountability and lack of transparency in their party.
On September 11, the party also wrote to Aukot demanding Ksh5 million for allegedly using Party office to conduct private business.
The party said he used its offices to conduct private business for his law firm, EA LAW consulting, hence they would charge him a monthly rent of Ksh150,000.
