FA Cup replays have been scrapped for the current season with all games going to extra time and penalties in the event of a draw to ease pressure on the football calendar.

The Carabao Cup competition has seen its games reduced to 1 tie meaning that there will be no more home and away ties. The FA competition will start with the extra preliminary around on 1 September and the final is due to be played at Wembley Stadium on 15 May 2021.

Other changes that have been made include the the total cash awards to the team that wins the FA cup, the prize money has been halved from 2019-20 because of the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The winners will now receive £1.8m, down from £3.6m last season, in line with the 2017-18 campaign.

The draws for the FA Cup extra preliminary and preliminary rounds, and the EFL Cup first round, will be made on 18 August.
