Fantastic Bruno Fernandes Inspires United to 4-1 Win Over Istanbul Basaksehir

Manchester United exacted revenge on Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir with a blistering first-half performance.

The Red Devils were on the receiving end of a shock several weeks ago when they went down 2-1 in Istanbul.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made his intentions clear with a hugely attacking line-up that reaped its rewards as United ran out 4-1 winners.

Bruno Fernandes grabbed himself a brace with his first a perfectly struck half volley from the edge of the box that cannoned into the roof of the net.

He didn’t have to wait long for his and United’s second as he made Volkan Babacan pay for dropping the ball at his feet with a simple tap in.

The Portuguese star then turned down the chance of a hat-trick as he allowed Marcus Rashford to slot home from the penalty spot.

But it was Bruno Fernandes fantastic form that captured and received a lot of praise.

He scored the opening two goals at Old Trafford, the first an especially sweet strike.

It now means the Fernandes has been involved in 34 goals in his 35 United outings – 21 of those being goals scored by himself coupled with 13 assists.

The 26-year-old was all class and that was never more evident than when he turned down the chance to score a first-half treble.

With United 2-0 up they won a penalty but Fernandes surrendered penalty duties and allowed Rashford to step up and slot home.

The playmaker has been lauded for his efforts on the pitch, but away from it his influence is equally as high.
