Former Senators Johnston Muthama, Hassan Omar and Bonny Khalwale Tell off David Murathe over Deep State

Former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama together with his counterparts from Mombasa and Kakamega Hassan Omar and Bonny Khalwale on Thursday faulted David Murathe over his remarks.

The senators pointed fingers at Murathe for promulgating a non existent narrative on the now infamous deep state and the system.

They further told off Murathe for his stance on William Ruto’s 2022 presidential campaigns, saying that Kenyans are behind the DP in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Let Kenyans not be fooled or intimidated by these sentiments because whatever is called the deep state or the system doesn’t exist. Kenyans are very much prepared and are behind the Deputy President H.E William Ruto. If the president is in doubt, let him call for elections and he will realize that Kenyans are very much prepared, ” pointed Sen. Muthama.

The Senators also took issue on the misappropriation of the Covid-19 funds urging the government to come out clean and provide a full disclosure of how the funds have been used. This comes at a time when there is so much uproar of cartels benefiting directly from the PPEs donated to the country then reselling them to KEMSA.

“It’s unfortunate that this government can’t account on how it has spend the Covid-19 funds. I call upon the American government, The British government and any other Government that is supporting us to fight Covid-19 to cut it’s aid until our goverment provides a full disclosure on the appropriation of the funds.” continued Senator Omar.

” We need to change tact. We should use faith based organizations, community based organizations and other non-governmental organizations to handle the Covid-19 funds, ” said Senator Khalwale.

Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday while meeting a delegation of Maa community from Kajiado in his Karen office said that only God and not the system nor deep state will stop him from winning the 2022 presidential elections.

“I just want to tell them… ‘We’re waiting for you’. This system, this deep state we are being told about, we are waiting for it,” the DP said on Tuesday.
