Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Betty Maina narrowly escaped a road accident after a speeding boda boda rammed into her vehicle on Wednesday, October 21.
The 9pm accident happened along the Kericho – Litein highway as the CS was headed home after a working tour of Kericho County.
Confirming the accident, Kericho County Commissioner Karungu Kamau said that the CS’s vehicle was hit from behind.
“A motorcycle rammed into the CS’s official vehicle near Jericho in Kericho while Ms Maina was on her way home,” said Mr. Kamau.
No one was injured in the accident and the CS is back on a tour of the South Rift region to inspect government projects.
Today, the is due to hold a meeting with Bomet Central Deputy County Commissioner Said Mwa Mzungu who is representing County Commissioner Susan Waweru.
The accident follows a spate of tragic road accidents involving motorbikew which have claimed dozens of innocent lives.
Last week, Lands CS Faridah Karoney lost her father after a boda boda knocked him dead along the Kapsabet – Kakamega highway.
