Kenya on Saturday confirmed 176 new Covid-19 cases from a 4,115 sample size, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 35,969.
The country has carried out 494,560 tests since March.
Of the new cases, all were Kenyans except 5 who were foreigners. Gender-wise, 136 were males while 44 were females.
The youngest case was a 3-month-old infant and the oldest was 78 years.
In a statement, Health CS Mutahi said that 329 people had in the last 24 hours recovered from the virus; 43 were on home-based care while 286 were receiving treatment in various hospitals.
Total number of recoveries stands at 22,771.
In the same period, three more patients succumbed to the virus, pushing the death toll to 619.
The cases were distributed as follows: Nairobi 32, Nakuru 29, Mombasa 22, Kajiado 14, Kisii 9, Kiambu 7, Garissa 6, Nyeri 6, Migori 6, Kisumu 6, Vihiga 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Kwale 5, Meru 5, Narok 3, Kericho 2, Nyandarua 2, Busia 2, Kitui 2 while Murang’a, Homa Bay, Kilifi, Laikipia, Embu, Machakos and Baringo recorded a case each.
