Kiambu Man Nabbed With 47 Fake Title Deeds

DCI sleuths on Sunday apprehended a man in Gatundu South, Kiambu County for forging title deeds.

The suspect, Ng’ang’a Kanina, is said to have been in possession of 47 signed title deeds registered under different names.

“Detectives based at Gatundu South have arrested Mr. Ng’ang’a Kanina for the offence of making public documents without authority namely land Title Deeds,” DCI tweeted.

The documents, purported to have been issued by land registrars from Kiambu and Machakos counties, were discovered in his house, DCI said.

“Forty Seven (47) Fake, signed Title Deeds registered under different names and purported to have been issued by land registrars from Kiambu and Machakos counties were confiscated from his house,” the tweet read.

The forged title deeds are suspected to have been used by fraudsters to obtain money by false pretences from unsuspecting members of the public.

“The fake land title deeds are suspected to be used by fraudsters to obtain money by false pretences from unsuspecting members of the public.”

 

According to the DCI, the title deeds have been retained as exhibits pending investigations.
