Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke factions in Jubilee party have traded blows over the Sunday morning chaos that erupted in Kenol, Muranga County even as Deputy President William Ruto visited the region for a church service and later a fundraiser.
Taking to social media, DP Ruto’s allies led by Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary Caleb Kositany condemned the unfortunate event terming it an “very old school”.
The Soy MP accused the Kieleweke faction of inciting their supporters against the DP’s.
“Sponsored violence by kieleweke in Muranga this is very old school. It’s a church function for heavens sake, they want to evict us from church too.”
Kositany’s sentiments were echoed by Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga saying that the perpetrators of the chaos witnessed in the morning will not succeed in frustrating the DP.
“They’ve now sponsored violence at Kenol, Muranga to frustrate DP Ruto’s visit to the area. To what extent is this axis of evil-doers willing to go to perpetuate their evil schemes?” Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga tweeted.
Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata on the other hand blamed the latest events on DP Ruto and his allies accusing them of staging a power grab in the region.
“Stop this power struggle, it’s causing the Nation too much trouble. Endangering lives of innocent ones. “Bunny (Power strugglers).Passed Kenol on my way to church in Muranga .Saw chaos among the youth ahead of some political visit. We heed HE advise and work for the people first.” Kangata stated.
This comes after chaos erupted on Sunday morning after supporters of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto clashed in Kenol, Muranga County ahead of DP’s visit to the region.
The youths barricaded the Kenol-Murang’a road paralyzing transportation on the busy road.
Murang’a South DCC Mawira Mungania confirmed the incident saying that one person was killed in the resulting drama and several others sustaining serious injuries.

In a video going round on social media, the youths can be seen throwing stones at each other in a battle to take control of the area.
They also burned tires on the road, rendering it impassable for motorists who were on their daily business.
DP Ruto is currently attending a fundraiser at the AIPCA Kenol Church and will later in the day address residents at roadside rallies.
The second in command is being hosted by Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome.
