Residents of Kisumu on Thursday gave President Uhuru Kenyatta a massive reception as he began his development tour of the region.
And as his convoy snaked into the Kondele marjet on his way to the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, it was song and dance as enthusiastic residents cheered wildly.

This was the first time the President had visited the city only a day after launching the much awaited Building Bridges Initiative report in Kisii County.
In a show of love to the president, the crowd led by jubilant boda boda riders placards praising Uhuru and his Handshake partner Raila Odinga for their recent show of unity.
Uhuru Kenyatta stopped at Kondele market and acknowledged the residents who had gathered awaiting his convoy.
The president standing atop his presidential car only waved to the people but did not make an address as he was headed to Mamboleo Show Ground where he was to preside over the ground-breaking of theJomo Kenyatta International Stadium.
The President, who is keen to promoting the BBI report with his handshake partner Raila Odinga was expected to meet Nyanza region Mps and at the same time inspect ongoing development projects.
Among the project the head of state was set to tour are; the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo ASK Grounds, the ongoing construction of Uhuru Business Park and the Sh3 billion refurbished Kisumu port.
