Sadio Mane has become the second Liverpool player to test positive for coronavirus.
He now joins Thiago Alcantara who was diagnosed of the virus last week.
Jurgen Klopp’s side confirmed the news on Friday evening via their twitter handle.
Sadio Mane has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.

Liverpool on Friday evening wrote on their official website: “Sadio Mane has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.
“The forward, who started and scored in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal, has displayed minor symptoms of the virus but feels in good health overall.
“However, like with Thiago Alcantara,Liverpool Football Club are – and will continue to – follow all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Mane will self-isolate for the required period of time.”
Liverpool have won all three of the Premier League matches this season with Mane playing a key role in each of them.
He may not have scored during opening day 4-3 victory over Leeds but he gave defender Luke Ayling a few nightmares.
Then, in the second match against Chelsea, he scored twice and helped get Andreas Christensen sent off in the first-half.
He then scored the equaliser during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Monday and was simply brilliant during the 90 minutes.

But now, he and Thiago will miss the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday as well as Senegal’s international matches.
It was only earlier in the day that Jurgen Klopp, assumingly knowing that Mane had contracted Covid-19, admitted he was slightly concerned about the upcoming internationals and the restart for the Champions League.
