Man Burns Alive After Two Vehicles Burst Into Flames on Mombasa Road

One person burned to death and four others injured on Monday morning, November 16 after an accident involving three vehicles at the Kapiti Plains on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

The three ill-fated vehicles included a Toyota Fielder, a Probox and a Toyota Hilux.

According to reports, two of the vehicles, the Probox and the Fielder, rammed into each other before bursting into flames trapping those on board.

While confirming the incident, Athi River police station OCPD Goerge Kashimiri said that one person died in the burning vehicle.

The OCPD said that the accident might have been caused by driver’s error adding that investigations have commence to ascertain the cause.

The incident caused a huge traffic snarl on the highway for the better part of Monday morning as police tried to clear the flow.

The seriously injured passengers were rushed to the Machakos Level Five Hospital where they are currently admitted. The body of the deceased was also moved to the facility’s Mortuary
