Man Caught On Camera Breaking Into Vehicle Nabbed In Mombasa

DCI detectives have apprehended a man caught on camera breaking into a motor vehicle in Mombasa.

The suspect has been identified as Boris Mutua.

According to DCI boss George Kinoti, the suspect was arrested at his Kiembeni home, where sleuths recovered a motor vehicle – Toyota Ractis Reg No KCX 726Q.

“Following credible information from members of the public, a team of detectives lead by the CCIO Mombasa has arrested BORIS MUTUA MALAI from his home in Kiembeni and recovered a Toyota Ractis bearing Reg. No. KCX 726 Q,” DCI said in a tweet.

The car, bearing different plates (KCU 113P) was used by the suspect on September 17 to commit a crime at the Texas Building near Cinemax within Nyali.

The occupants were caught on camera breaking into a white vehicle and stealing valuables of unknown value.

Police are searching for Mutua’s accomplices.

“The motor vehicle was captured on camera on 17/9/2020 bearing plate number KCU 113 P at a crime scene at Texas Building near Cinemax within Nyali where a car was broken into and valuables stolen from therein,” Kinoti added.

“Search for Mutua’s accomplices is ongoing.”
