A man was on Friday night fatally shot in the chest in what authorities term as deal gone sour.
The victim, a 28 year old Kevin Omwenga is said to have died from a gunshot wound to his chest.
According to the police, the victim is a motor vehicles dealer who also moonlights as a fake gold business dealer and was killed after a disagreement with the suspected killer Robert Ouko who has since been arrested.
Witnesses who spoke to the Standard Newspaper said that Omwenga and Ouko were involved in an argument over a fake gold deal.
“They were arguing over money accrued from a deal they struck back in March” said a witness.
A brother of the deceased who was present when the incident happened said that he heard a gunshot from the victim’s bedroom and when he rushed to see what was happening, he met Ouko dashing out.
Omwenga was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital after his brother found him lying with blood on his chest.
The case was later reported at Kilimani Police Station where police officers were led to an office suite along Galana Road where a Ceska Pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered with 13 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect in the murder Ouko has been arrested and is assisting the police with investigations.
Police believe that the deceased is part of a ruthless gang of fake gold conmen who have swindled millions of shillings from the public.
