Residents of Moi Ndabi village in Naivasha have been left stunned after a man strangled his three year old son before killing himself on Tuesday, 20 October 2020.
Authorities have identified the man as Daniel Kyallo who recently separated from his wife after irreconcilable differences.
Confirming the incident, Kipkunyo sub location assistant chief Simon Koskei narrated how the man carried out the heinous act before hanging himself on Tueday morning.
Preliminary reports show that the man first strangled his son then threw the body of the kid to a toilet which is still under construction before hanging himself.
“He used a ladder to hide the body of the child in the pit latrine before using the same ladder to hang himself on Tuesday morning,” the local chief said.
Residents said that the man for the past few days has been mentally disturbed since his wife left him after marital disagreements.
“Those close to him said he appeared disturbed after the wife left their matrimonial home a week ago,” said one resident.
The bodies of the two victims have since been taken to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary even as investigations continue.
