A number of officials from the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority (NWHSA) have been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI.
The officials led by the Ag. CEO Sharon Obongo, Chairman of the board Mr. Eric Okeyo and head of Procurement Mr. John Musyoka were on Tuesday morning, summoned to DCI headquarters to record statements as a result of flouting procurement procedures touching on gabions for flood control projects in the country.

The officers had earlier been directed by Public Procurement and Administrative Review Board to follow the procedures but they ignored.
The officers are also alleged to have diverted funds meant for several projects including a dam in Narok and instead used the funds to buy containers without adhering to procurement procedures which were distributed across the country ostensibly to control the spread of coronavirus without prior planning and budget.

The chairman influenced the procurement of security personnel tender by conspiring with the acting CEO and procurement officer Mr. John Musyoka to cancel an already concluded evaluation process so that a security company associated with them could win the tender.
The diversion of funds meant for projects to buy containers in the pretext to prevent COVID 19 was not approved by the Board as they were not in the procurement plan.
