Olympic Champion Conseslus Kipruto Charged with Defiling a Minor

Controversial Olympic and world 3000 meters steeplechase champion, Conseslus Kipruto troubles are far from over after a Kapsabet court charged him with defiling a 15-year-old minor.

Kipruto was on Monday, November 16, 2020 charged before Principal Magistrate D. Ocharo.

He denied the charges and was released on Sh200, 000 bond.

The court was told that the world champion defiled the minor on various dates between October 20 and October 21.

Police had a hard time trying to stop journalists from covering the court proceedings.

Before his arrest last month, Kipruto had severally escaped police traps within Nandi County after reports emerged that he was romantically involved with a minor.

The said girl is a form two student.

The parents reported the case to Mosoriot police post after it emerged that he may have eloped with their daughter at his Chesumei home.

The athlete recently took to social media to voice his innocence, saying that he may have been set, captioning his post ““God forgive them.”
