Nairobians walking along Kimathi Street in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) were on Tuesday, November 10 thrown into panic after a man collapsed while walking and died on the spot.
According to reports by the Nation, the man was not well and was on his way to the Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.
While confirming the incident, Nairobi Sub-county Police Commissioner Mark Wanjala told the Nation that the police rushed to the scene as soon as they received a call about the incident and found the body of the lifeless body lying on the street.
Wanjala added that a postmortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
“We do not want to speculate, especially as we navigate the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
His cousin, who is also a building contractor in the area, told the publication that the deceased was waiting for his sister before he collapsed and died.
“She is a businesswoman around here. They had told me to tag along,” his cousin told Nation.

The mysterious death comes in the wake of an increased number of reported positive cases of Covid-19 in the country and in particular Machakos county.
