The rising waters of Lakes Baringo and Bogoria has brought forth destruction running into billions of shillings even as authorities warn people to move to higher grounds.
With geologists and environmental experts warning that the two lakes are only 5 kilometres away from merging.
On Monday, August 31, a giant sinkhole appeared in the area near Lake Baringo leaving residents panicked and fearing for the worst.

Already, schools, homes and hotels have been swallowed by the ravaging high levels of water, and experts warn that the phenomenon is not going away anytime soon.
Tourist hotels and lodges near the shores of the lakes have been totally submerged.

Some of the hotels and lodges affected include; Soi Safari Lodge, Tumbili Cliff Lodge, Lake Baringo Reptile Park and Island Camp.
