Police are looking into a case of a missing Maranda High School teacher who was last seen six days ago.
Kevin Otieno Ongoma, 33, is said to have left the school compound aboard his car on Friday evening never to be seen again.
The Biology department head’s car, Registration No. KBQ 846B was discovered near River Nzoia in Ugunja Sub-county on Saturday.
“It has been established that the car registration number KBQ 846 B Toyota Fielder belongs to the teacher who is from Mbosie within Ugunja Sub-county but based at Maranda High School,” said Siaya County police commander Francis Kooli.
“He left the school compound on Friday in the morning and drove himself to an unknown destination. Two days before he disappeared, he reportedly had a serious domestic dispute with his wife over undisclosed reasons,” Kooli told the Nation.
For days, his two mobile phones remained switched off.
Police suspect that Ongoma who had worked at Maranda for five years could have thrown himself in the river.
“It is highly suspected that he might have committed suicide by throwing himself into the river but investigations will, however, establish what happened,” added Kooli.
