A Kakamega police officer has been arrested for allegedly defiling a standard eight girl.
The officer attached to Matete Police Station in Kakamega County, was arrested at a lodging in Chimoi Trading Centre in the company of the 15-year-old girl who is a KCPE candidate at Makonge Primary School.
According to the girl’s father, he got a tip-off from a boda boda rider who saw her daughter with the suspect entering the lodge.
He then contacted on of the teachers in the school who confirmed that her daughter had not reported to school.
“My daughter left home for school early in the morning in the company of her younger brother who is in grade four and I am shocked to discover that she had not reported to school,” he narrated.
He was then led at one of the lodgings at the trading center where he found the police officer with his daughter.
The minor was later taken to Matete Health Center for medical examinations where it was revealed that she was four months pregnant.
“My fear is that the suspect may be set free because he is a police officer, but I am appealing to the concerned authorities to ensure justice for my daughter whose future has been ruined,” he pleaded.
