WhatsApp will stop working on some phones from tonight.
Anybody who owns a Nokia S40 will be unable to use the instant messaging service from midnight.
It means owners will have to upgrade their phone if they want to continue using the app.
The messaging platform, which is owned by Facebook, is hugely popular among Mancunians.
A spokesman for the company said: "This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.
"If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone to continue using WhatsApp."
It's not the only handset that WhatsApp is withdrawing support from.
From February 2020, the platform will no longer be available on Android 2.3.7, iPhone 3GS or any iOS 6 device.
And last year, the company stopped running on BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Windows 8.0 and Nokia S60 platforms.
