President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday, October 22, expressed his love for Kisumu County during the his tour at the lakeside city.
The President left the crowd in stitches he will seek his wife, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta’s consent in getting a “Kisumu-based helper” [second wife].
In videos circulating online, President Uhuru’s security detail had a hard time controlling multitudes that had lined up the streets and walkways.
The president, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and several leaders had a light moment with the residents and even breaking into the sensational Jerusalema dance challenge.
“Nilikuwa naambia Raila hapa jameni… Sijui kama mama nyumbani ataniruhusu… Akiniruhusu labda naweza kupata mtu ambaye atakuwa ananitengenezea mambo yangu pande hii…[I was telling (ODM leader) Raila Odinga, I don’t know whether my wife will allow me to get another woman to look after my interests on this side],”

The President who was accompanied by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and a host of local leaders drummed up support for the newly released Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
The head of state also laid the foundation for the construction of an international-standard’s Sports Complex at the Kisumu showgrounds
The Complex will be opened next April with the president saying its grand opening will culminate in a epic football match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards
Shortly after, he made a stop over in Kisumu town where he urged residents to support BBI, saying that it will foster National unity.
He also dismissed BBI critics saying they were opposing the report without even reading it.
Uhuru added that there are some issues proposals in the BBI report that may not necessarily require a referendum.
He also welcomed critics to the table to chart ways in which the report can be made better.
