ODM Leader Raila Odinga is in Bomet County at the home of Nominated MP Wilson Sosion.

Odinga arrived at the Knut Secretary General’s home via a chopper a few minutes past 1 pm.

The ODM Party Leader is in Bomet to celebrate the admission to the bar of his daughter Rosemary Chepkorir, the first female lawyer in Sossion’s Motigo village.

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, CS Eugene Wamalwa, Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno are among those present.

The event provides Odinga with an opportunity to immerse himself into William Ruto’s political turf as he seeks to consolidate support for his 2022 presidential ambitions.

It is also the first major event in South Rift after the country went into lock down following the spread of the deadly covid-19 disease.

Raila’s visit coincides with DP William Ruto’s tour of Kisumu and Migori counties as the jostle for 2022 gains momentum.

While the Bomet event is not political, the presence of COTU SG Francis Atwoli and Emurua Dikirr Mp Johanna Ng’eno throws spanner in the works.

The presence of Ng’eno who recently decamped from Gideon Moi side and joined William Ruto will be the focus of political banter after he was recently released on bail after making a slur against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother Mama Ngina.

On the other hand, Atwoli and CS Wamalwa will be seeking to bolster Odinga’s support in South Rift, considered a solid Ruto turf.
