Raila, Ruto Trade Words as Governor Mutua Adopts New Strategy to Win Voters

Even as Deputy President William Ruto and ODM party leader Raila Odinga continue to exchange words over the hustler vs dynasty notion, aspiring Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua seems to have diverted from the norm and adopted a new strategy in winning voters ahead of 2022.

Mutua, who has officially declared his interests to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, embarked on his countrywide meet the people tours in Meru where he has lined up a series of meetings with local leaders.

Unlike other candidates, Mutua has improvised his campaigns, changing the usual norm of conducting open campaigns (Leader says it all) to Listening Tours where Kenyans are given opportunities to talk and express their thoughts as the candidate listens.

Dr Mutua, who is projecting himself as a people’s servant under Kenya Afresh With Mutua, has successfully conducted a number of successful meetings starting where he started in Mwala Machakos, heading to Maua in Meru with the governor expected to tour other parts of the county in the coming days.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader seeks to familiarise himself with the needs of the electorates as he strategizes to take over the mantle in 2022. The governor is expected to also hold meetings in Isiolo and Tharaka-Nithi in the coming days.

“Kenya needs a humble & SERVANT PRESIDENT and I want to HEAR from Wananchi what exactly they will want me to FIX for them. It is ABOUT the PEOPLE not LEADERS imposing their selfish agenda on wananchi,” stated Mutua.

Speaking in Meru, Mutua, who has presented himself as a people’s servant, promised to tackle poverty, unemployment and corruption menace in the country, saying he understands the problems facing wananchi more than his competitors.

The resilient Mutua stated that he will not allow Kenyans to be used as easy prey due to poverty by selfish leaders, adding that his main objective will be to empower Kenyans to be self-sufficient.

“Kenyans are a hard working and resilient people who have have solutions to our problems, but their voices have been stifled by leaders with their own agendas. It is also very clear that Kenyans want to be self sufficient and have no desire to be dependent on handouts,” he added.

He urged Kenyans to evaluate all aspirants keenly, urging on the need of allowing him to give Kenya a Fresh Start. Mutua described himself as a leader with vast experience in county and national leadership as well as a deep understanding of the world economy.

“We must shun tribal and mind control politics and take charge by electing the right leadership. The Presidency is not a birthright and I ask Kenyans to demand for respect from leaders who do not mean well for Kenya. Together, we can get things done,” stated Mutua today on his similar tour to Isiolo.

Mutua is expected to square it out with Raila and Ruto in 2022, with the youthful leader presenting himself as a perfect solution to Kenya’s problems, thanks to his good track records serving as the government’s spokesperson as well as Machakos county governor.
