Raila, Yusuf Haji Unaware Of Content In Final BBI Draft – Murkomen

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has claimed that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is being handled like some private property.

Taking to social media, the lawmaker alleged that the document which was unveiled in November 2019 will be reviewed by the Cabinet on Friday and launched in State House on Saturday.

“So the Cabinet will discuss BBI final report tomorrow and be launched in State House on Saturday? he wondered.

“I can’t remember any other process that involves the people of Kenya that has been managed like private property even more than official secrets. Now let the campaigns begin.”

He added that only a few people are aware of what is contained in the document. Not even President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner Raila Odinga is aware of what is in the document, he added.

In fact, Murkomen said, the BBI taskforce chairman, Yusuf Haji is in the dark when it comes to the final BBI draft.

“I can authoritatively state that there not more than 5 people who know what is in the BBI report,” he said.

“Even Raila and Yusuf Haji don’t know the contents of the final report just like they didn’t know what was in the first report that was launched in Bomas. All are waiting Saturday’s launch.”

Reports indicated that the president who is hosting a cabinet meeting in Tsavo from tomorrow was supposed to meet Senate and National Assembly leadership on Saturday.

They were supposed to discuss matters BBI.

The BBI team compiled the last draft three months ago but has not had a chance to present it to the handshake partners, Uhuru and Raila.

The term of the BBI taskforce lapsed on June 30.
