Kenya has recorded 141 new cases of Covid-19 from 3,307 samples tested in the last 24 hours, raising the country’s total to 37,489.
Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing from Thika, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said the youngest case was a four-year-old infant while the oldest was 74 years old.
On Thursday, Trans Nzoia recorded the highest number of cases, leading with 28 cases.
Dr Mwangangi announced 81 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,334.
12 of these patients were on the home-based programme, while 69 were discharged from various health facilities.
The country’s recovery rate is now at 65 per cent, she said.
The death toll rose to 669 after another five patients succumbed to the virus.
