President Uhuru Kenyatta through the State House communication director Kanze Dena has thrown Kenyans into a state of confusion after retracting an earlier statement communicating changes in the Ministry of Health and Industrialization.
In a press statement just hours after announcing the changes, the state house spokesperson said that Kenyans should await more direction on the matter at a yet to be announced date.
“We would like to retract an earlier communication on the management changes at the Ministry of Health and that of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development. Fresh communication on the subject matter will be issued in due course,” read the retraction statement.

Following the widespread corruption allegations at the Ministry of Health, it was just a matter of time before the head of state took decisive action.
In the surprise changes announced earlier, the President had transferred Health PS Susan Mochache who has come under fire recently to the Medical Services department.
The president had announced gave Johnson Weru the docket of PS at the Minsitry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development.
On the other hand, Uhuru appointed Dr Francis Owino as the PS for Public Health.
The president also gave Peter Kinuthia Thuku the role of Principal Administrative Secretary at Ministry of Health.

In light of the foregoing allegations on corruption at the ministry of health, the president had this to say: “Fellow Kenyans, in line with my stated public policy on zero tolerance to corruption, I want to reiterate that any persons found culpable should be brought to book notwithstanding their public office or political and social status.”
