Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Uasin Gishu Secretary General Elijah Maiyo wants Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha fired over the Langa’s Primary School saga.

Addressing the media in Eldoret on Monday morning, November 9, Maiyo challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire Magoha after the controversial video in which the CS was seen insulting the County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka went viral.

The KUPPET boss also demanded an apology from the CS arguing that his sentiments subjected the area County Director to ridicule.

“It is embarrassing for the CS to ask teachers to collect rubbish, the mess was there because there is an ongoing construction at the school.”

“We are calling the CS to issue an apology immediately, failure to which we are going to seek legal redress because its is unbecoming of a man of his stature to refer to an Education Director as a fool.”

“He insulted the County director infront of students, parents, teachers and visitors, this is wrong and will not be tolerated,” Maiyo said.

He added that the education officials will boycott all Magoha’s meetings in the region unless the matter is resolved.

The CS was reportedly angered by the untidy state in the school and instructed teachers and students to collect the garbage.

In the video that went viral, Magoha can be seen reprimanding Mbaka in a harsly manner before dismissing him.

“I am not talking about a report, I am talking about what is here on the ground. If I say you are a fool would I be lying” Magoha said while dismissing the old man.
