Virus Cases Cross 37,000 Mark As Death Toll Reaches 650

Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has announced 98 new Covid-19 cases from 1,644 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings the tally to 37,079.

All the cases are Kenyans except 2 who are foreigners.

63 are male and 35 are female with the youngest case being a 9-year-old and the oldest 75 years old.

CAS Aman also confirmed 62 recoveries in the same period, bringing the total number of recovered persons to 23,949.

44 are from the home-based care programme while 18 received treatment in various health facilities.

2 more COVID-19 patients have lost the battle to the virus, raising the death toll to 650.

The cases were spread out as follows: Nairobi 32, Mombasa 20, Meru 8, Uasin Gishu 8, Kiambu 5, Kisumu 4, Migori 4, Machakos 4, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kilifi, Taita Taveta and Murang’a with 2 cases each, Garissa, Kwale, Embu, Samburu, and Nakuru with 1 case each.

Nairobi cases were recorded in the following sub-counties: Embakasi East 5, Dagoretti North and Westlands 4 cases each, Embakasi Central, Kamukunji and Roysambu with 3 cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi West, Kasarani and Lang’ata with 2 cases each, Kibra and Ruaraka with 1 case each.
