DCI sleuths have captured a “Wanted” man who has been conning Kenyans.
John Ng’ethe Mwaura, DCI said in a tweet, is in custody after members of the public volunteered information in connection with the suspect.
“We can confirm that this individual is in our custody. We thank all for the information we have received since we issued this alert,” the tweet read.

In an alert issued by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and shared on DCI Twitter page, the suspect runs a conning syndicate through which citizens have lost thousands of shillings.
Those with information were required to reach the police on National Police Service hotlines 999, 911 or 112.
“Members of the public have lost thousands of shillings in the hands of fraudsters. We would like to speak to this man in connection with the incidents. Do you know him? Call the NPS IC3 999, 911 or 112,” the notice read.
The suspect poses as an overseer with Christ Love International Ministry and together with his accomplices rob unsuspecting Kenyans in the pretext of selling them redeemable coupons.
Mr Mwaura had been arrested and charged with assaulting and maliciously damaging the property of a police officer.
It is said the gang made its way back into Nairobi about a year after his arrest.
Earlier this week, officers drawn from the Special Service Unit (SSU) nabbed seven suspected fraudsters for obtaining money by false pretences.
The seven; Nahashon Wachira Kichera, Peter Njuguna Maina, Martin Mburu Abicha, Susan Wangare Nderittu, Grace N. Kimemia, Caroline Wangare Kamau and Faith Awuor Okatch pretended to run a promotion for one of Kenya’s leading telco.
Two Toyota Noahs, receipt books and two business permits allegedly issued by the Nairobi City County, mobile phones and tablets were some of the items recovered by the detectives.
The gang evades arrest by changing location and vehicles.
